DESCRIPTION

It’s 2 a.m., and you find yourself staring at the clock.

Tomorrow requires an early rise, and the thought of it makes you feel weary even before you sleep. But sleep eludes you. By 3 a.m., you’re gazing at your watch, trying everything to find rest - reading, scrolling through your phone, even wandering to the living room - but nothing seems to help. Your mind races with worries about the day ahead: how will you manage the important tasks that demand your full attention? A cascade of thoughts floods your mind: "What will I pack for the school lunch? Did I respond to that crucial email? We’re out of toilet paper, so it needs to go on the shopping list. What should I cook for tomorrow?"

You crawl back into bed, close your eyes, and will yourself to sleep. The next time you glance at your watch, it’s 4 a.m., and you’re still wide awake. Suddenly, the alarm blares; it’s 5:30 a.m., and you realize you just drifted off.

Do you relate? Sleepless nights have become all too common in our hectic lives, filled with constant multitasking and stress. I often feel like an old soul, yearning for a simpler time—an era when I didn’t have to check emails multiple times a day or juggle endless texts. While I appreciate the benefits of modern technology, it can be overwhelming when everyone demands your attention.

Instead of succumbing to this sleepless frustration, I’ve learned to channel it into creativity. In my case, I express my feelings on canvas. This is how my painting, "INSOMNIA," came to life. As an artist, I find solace in the act of creation; the canvas becomes a trusted friend, a silent listener to my thoughts and emotions.

Though sleepless nights still visit me from time to time, I now see them as opportunities for artistic expression. As artists, we must honor our feelings and transform them into visible manifestations in our work. Just as a writer finds solace in words or a singer in melodies, I turn negative experiences into positive outcomes, leaving me tired yet fulfilled by the sight of a new creation on my canvas.
